Manuel (Mendl) Junowicz is a 56 years old Argentinean Jew. He is an industrial engineering, with a major in Economics and is part of the Board of Directors of different companies. While being a young boy, and after 17 years of Jewish and Zionist education, he spent a year in Israel, where he graduated as an official Hebrew teacher for the Diaspora. He met his wife in Israel.
Manuel was always involved as an active volunteer in different Argentinean Jewish organizations including many Jewish schools, AMIA, Ttnuat aliyah, and BAMA. He was Secretary of the Aliyah Commission of the Argentinean Zionist Federation and Argentina’s representative to the Zionist Congress.
In 2002 Manuel was elected president of the Argentinean Zionist Federation (OSA). As a result of the big institutional development of OSA, he was reelected as president in 2004, with the full support of all the different Zionist parties and groups. During his tenure, he was also appointed representative for O.L.E.I (Latin American Olim Association) in Argentina.
In 2006, Manuel was unanimously elected Honorary President of the Argentinean Zionist Federation, a title that was granted for the first time in the history of the federation. Since 2007 he is a member of the Finance Committee of the Vaad Hapohel ha' Tzioni. Currently he is the President and Founder of Tikva Foundation, a group of community leaders in love with Israel and the Jewish people!
Mr. Junowicz is a Committee Member since January 2007. Prior to that, he served as an Associate Member (June 2002-September 2006).
