900 People from the Tri-State Area Will Immigrate to Israel this Summer

June 30, 2008 / 27 Sivan 5768

ON THE MOVE: Miriam Borowosky (right), a graphic artist, and Marni Mandell (center), vice president for business development at an Israeli hi-tech start up company, accompanied by her sister, Andrea (left), were among 250 New York area residents who attended the Jewish Agency's Farewell Reception Thursday evening (June 26) at the UJA-Federation of New York. At the event, the olim received their immigrant visas and final tips in advance of their move to Israel.

In all, 900 people from the tri-state area will make aliyah this summer. The Jewish Agency anticipates that 3,000 to 3,200 North Americans will move to Israel this year, with more than one third from the tri-state area.
