On February 11, the Chilean Minister for Public Works, Eduardo Bitrán, together with his wife and family visited the Mevasseret Zion Absorption Center.

Eduardo is one of the best known and respected Jewish parliamentarians in the world. He and his family have close ties to Israel, visit frequently, and keep current on developments in Israel.

The purpose of this visit was to learn more about the absorption of olim from Ethiopia, and to get a first hand experience of the absorption center. They visited an Ulpan and a computer center and were impressed by the vast change which the Ethiopian community is undergoing since its aliyah to Israel.

This visit is not the last of their visits to Jewish Agency projects, on Thursday, February 22, Yael, the minister's wife will visit the Jewish Agency Ben Yakir Youth Village.
