It was school supply distribution day for the children of the Jewish Agency's Karmiel Absorption Center in advance of the school year.
The school supplies are part of a contribution from the Jewish Federation of Chicago towards the Jewish Agency's Making the Grade project that is being run in cooperation with Office Depot Inc.

The Federation's contribution assisted all children in the Northern absorption centers from grades one through twelve, the children involved in the Youth Futures program in the North and in Sderot, as well as first-graders in Sderot and Kibbutz Nir Am.

The children received a "gift card" and together with their parents chose the school supplies and a backpack for the forthcoming school year.
