IDB Group Visits Jewish Agency Projects in the North

October 28, 2007 / 16 Cheshvan 5768

The IDB Group, which is a partner of the Jewish Agency in projects throughout Israel, toured various Jewish Agency centers in the North which assist new immigrants.

Participants in the tour included the director-general of the IDB Fund, Rami Mardor, projects director of the IDB Fund, David Levy, and  the director-general of the Aliyah Department. On their tour they visited a number of centers: an ulpan at Kibbutz Ein Hashofet, an absorption center in Upper Nazareth, and the absorption center in Safed where a coffee drinking ceremony (Boneh), a traditional ceremony of the Ethiopian Jewish community, took place.

The IDB Group headed by Nochi Dankner is continuing its activity in partnership with Jewish communities throughout the world and the Jewish Agency on the basis of matching grants to expand the construction and development of educational facilities and enrichment programs in the Negev and the Galilee.

The Jewish Agency takes satisfaction in establishing partnerships between Jewish donors from abroad and Israeli partners including institutional ones.  The partnership approach contributes both to Jewish solidarity and usually results in more effective assistance to worthy projects.  To find out more about how you can help in worthy projects, click here.
