New Community Center at Kiryat Ekron

August 28, 2008 / 27 Av 5768

A refurbished and modernized community center opened in  Kiryat Ekron thanks to a generous contribution from the Los Angeles Shelters for Israel organization.

On Tuesday, August 26, an opening ceremony took place to inaugurate the modernized community center in Kiryat Ekron. The renovation was made possible thanks to a generous contribution of $350,000, courtesy of the Shelters for Israel organization from Los Angeles.

Shelters for Israel has contributed to 32 projects via the Jewish Agency's Israel Education Fund. These projects include the construction of kindergartens, day care centers, schools, libraries community centers, and golden age clubs throughout Israel - from Kiryat Shmona in the North to Beersheba in the South.

Attending the grand opening ceremony were Israeli interior minister, Meir Sheetrit , Jewish Agency director of resource development & public affairs, Jeff Kaye, council chairman, Arik Hadad, many dignitaries and the residents of Kiryat Ekron.

The ceremony opened with speeches and was followed by a rich artistic program performed by the local troupes.

The new renovated culture center will undoubtedly enrich the social and cultural life of Kiryat Ekron.

The contribution by the Shelters for Israel organization and the Jewish Agency to Kiryat Ekron is literally worth its weight in gold.
