Jewish Agency’s Fund for the Victims of Terror
Extending Help to Families of Israelis and Jews Killed in Mumbai
The onslaught of terror in India has hit close to home. Eight innocent Israelis and Jews were killed in the attacks in Mumbai. The leaders of the Jewish Agency for Israel have decided to provide support for the families of these victims via the Fund for the Victims of Terror. Financial support will be transferred immediately to the families of the Jews and Israelis who were killed in the attack.
Chairman of the Jewish Agency, Zeev Bielski, says that this fund, created by the United Jewish Communities, Jewish federations and Keren Hayesod, expresses the mutual responsibility of the Jewish People as well as the Jewish Agency's support of Jews who fall victim to terror attacks aimed at Israeli and Jewish targets.
The Fund was established in the year 2000 in response to the second intifada. Since then, more than 100 million NIS have been provided to thousands of victims of terror attacks and their families. The Jewish Agency has transferred funds to victims of terror attacks that have occurred both in Israel and throughout the world.
