Born 1941 in Newark N.J. Simon's childhood friendship and partnership with Art Garfunkal earned him numerous hits. After their breakup in the 1970's he has gone on to a successful career as a soloist though they join together once in a while for a mega-concert. Simon's greatest hits include such classics as Sounds of Silence, Bridge over Troubled Water, and Graceland.
