Robert was a world famous combat photographer, whose photographs of the Spanish Civil War and WWII achieved fame through the pages of Life magazine. He was killed in 1954 by a mine in Indochina. His brother Cornell founded the International Center for Photography and is known for his social and historical news photographs.
