Rene Samuel Cassin (1887 - 1976)

    Rene Samuel Cassin - French Jurist and Nobel Laureate. Cassin served as a legal advisor to the League of Nations and served with General Charles de Gaulle during WWII. With the founding of the United Nations, Cassin acted as the chief architect of the Declaration of Human Rights and served as president of the European court of Human Rights. His work earned him the Nobel Peace Prize. Cassin was also active in helping rebuild the Jewish communities in France and North Africa after the war.
