Although I made aliyah only a few short months ago, when I heard about the Jewish Agency’s Big Brother program I immediately volunteered. I want to be a positive role model for Ethiopian children and help them to become upwardly mobile in Israeli society.”
During the height of the 2002 Intifada,Bruck Teshome’s entire family made aliyah from Ethiopia to Israel—except Bruck. He stayed behind to complete law school and expand his knowledge and experiences in the international arena. After working for the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs nd a human rights NGO, he decided to make the journey to Israel—retracing the steps of his forefathers and family.
