Bet-Neriya is an orthodox religious community that aims to improve the quality of life of residents of Nahariya, a city in the Western Galilee in the north of Israel.
The community was founded eight years ago by former students of the Yeshivat Hesder (Torah Learning College who serve in the IDF), who after completing university or vocational studies, chose to settle in the city to work together with families from within Nahariyah.
Their numerous projects include a relief center that distributes food and clothing to those in need, after school clubs, summer camps, bar-mitzvah preparations, activities in local kindergartens with the aim of strengthening Jewish traditions, art and drama for special needs youth, and classes to help students with matriculation exams.
Members also work with Ethiopian children after school in the city's absorption center and they run a 'young leadership' project with partnership 2000 (a Jewish Agency program) in a secular school.
Who are we looking for?
Bet-Neriya are looking for religious volunteers, under the age of 26, who believe in charity and narrowing the social gap through education.
